ABOUT ME
MATOKA is a lifestyle brand promoting Japan and Japanese culture while making videos revolving around travel, food, anime, and more. Starting as a video blogger on YouTube to document my experiences studying Japanese while living in Tokyo, the channel has evolved to encompass my experiences as I explore my passions, bridge the cultural gap between Japan and America, and find new adventures to conquer. As I document my experiences trying to find my 生き甲斐 (purpose in life), I hope to bring awareness and educate others that may be struggling with the same idea in their lives. The final goal is to travel the world and eventually make it back to Japan to continue my Japanese studies and create more content about life in Japan.
With MATOKA’s social media presence reaching to Instagram, TikTok and Twitch, I want to use the knowledge that I have learned through creating content and managing multiple social media accounts to help other small businesses with their social media and marketing endeavors. I have already partnered with several small companies to help with their content creation and social media marketing, such as Heather and Willow, Christine’s Cookie Co, and Kin Leaf Tea.
